Power Verse # 6 - Isaiah 40:31

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

(Isaiah 40: 31)

This is a mighty verse to hold on to. The promise of the Lord is strength for those whose trust is in Him. We must not rely on our own puny strength for they are limited but must rely on the strength of the Lord to carry us on eagle's wings as we soar above the the storms of our lives. We can run and not grow weary and we can walk and never tire. This is the promise of the Lord for the renewal of our strength anchored on His own supernatural strength. Are you deprived of strength by any energy sapping disease? Then claim and hold on to this promise and see the Lord heal your disease and restore your natural and inner strength. He gives us the power to mount on wings like the eagles and to soar above the storms of problems and trials in our lives.

Power Verse # 5 - Proverbs 3: 5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."

(Proverbs 3: 5-6)

This is something that is totally opposed to the teaching of the world for man's self reliance. In this verse, man is taught not to rely on one's own faculties and intelligence but to trust God for all of one's needs. This does not mean that man should just lie down and expect blessings to fall down from the skies. This means that we should hold on to God's promises and believe in His faithfulness to fulfill all of His promises. There are such things as spiritual realities or realities in the heavenly realms. And there are physical realities or those that are happening in this world which our five senses can comprehend. This verse means we have to believe in the spiritual realities of God's words even though the physical realities do not match them. Let me give you examples to elucidate this point. Even though there is no food at the dinner table, we should say our prayers before meal and thank God for His bountiful provisions, believing that that He who multiplied five loaves of bread and two small fishes to feed five thousand men excluding women and children can do the same for us. It means thanking Him for good health and healing even though we feel physical pain in our bodies and the doctor says that we are sick. Miracles are offshoots of a living faith in God. So let us practice trusting God alone erasing in our minds all negative thoughts.
